Right if anyone feels like stalking my old posts they will see my Audi was written off a couple of weeks back.

As such I'm looking for a car.

TBH I'm not really that fussed most cars I have I get on with.

Over the last few years I've had

Mitsubishi colt p reg worth around a £800 at the time.
Octavia vrs 03 plate worth £2000
Toyota mr2 mk2 worth £1500
Merc c230 think it was h reg worth £1000
Audi A3 1.9tdi worth £4500

Something else I've forgott about no doubt.

Now I need another car and to be honest I don't want a German car they to me are not as reliable as stated and always seem to have some issue or other going on.

So what to get. I've never had any major issues with jap and petrol so that's what I want.

Last week I had my heart set on a civic type r fn2, however after driving 5 in the last week whilst looking I honestly think once novelty wore of it would be a PIA to live with.

So after looking around and my budget going up and up, I've looked at a Suzuki swift, brand new. My thinking is rather than swapping and maintaining many cars over the years I get one good one and keep it forever to be honest.

As things stand I'm not married or have kids, I'm at an age that I should but it's just not worked out as yet.

I'm not too fussed about how I look to others or it's performance etc. I just want some creature comforts of which the swift has loads, reliability and no hassle for the next few years.

It just seems a good bit of transport for the money.

All views welcome

Swift is good and sounds right for what you're asking.

Yaris vvti would be my alternate choice. Relatively bullet proof and one of the best small cars I've ever driven. Probably a little pricier for the same miles and equipment.

I sold Suzukis for seven years and the Swift was of course the main seller, to give you an idea of how few problems we had with them we ended up not putting any warranty policies on them if they were out of Suzuki warranty because we realised we were paying a warranty company thousands of pounds each year yet the amount of warranty claims we actually encountered in a whole year did not even top £1000 so it was a false economy.

They are great fun to drive whichever model you go for but I would go for the 2012 onwards Sport as it made me grin every time I drove one, is pretty well equipped and rides surprisingly well too.

Did you have one as a company car ? I'm worried I'll get pissed off with boot but I just don't know really like them.

I'm assuming a new model is due soon do you think that will affect its value ?

The one thing that often stopped customers buying one was the boot size tbf, I used to drive a Sport as my company car even though I could have driven 'nicer' cars (we sold other brands) because I value enjoyment over luxury in a car.

There is a new model due in 2017 as the current one has been around since 2010 and it will have a bit of an effect on used values but not so much it should put you off buying one especially if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

100% yes, it's the kind of car I would recommend to friends with no worries

If only the 5dr Sport had a bigger boot my OH would be driving one (we have two kids)
