2nd generation Toyota Previa
Discussion
Anyone know much about these?
Not very PH, and I don't need an MPV, as it's just me and the wife.
However, there are a couple of companies out there doing cracking mini-campervan conversions on these things. Bonus being that they're much cheaper than a traditional camper. Whilst not fully equipped, what they offer is good enough for us - rear kitchen area so you can cook under the cover of the tailgate, split charger setup, 240v hookup, TV / DVD player etc.
But is the base vehicle any good? - most appear to be 2.4 petrol autos - auto is good, petrol not so good. I could pay a bit extra to get a D4D, though.
It would also be my wife's daily driver, so reliability, comfort and fuel economy are a consideration.
I have also looked at the first generation conversions - but the base car is getting a little old these days and I'm sure they weren't quite as rust proofed as I'd like!
