Anyone installed a trickle charger to an R35 GTR?
Discussion
I want to install a trickle charger to a 2016 R35 GTR without have to leave open the bonnet and the battery cover while the car is left in the garage for extended periods of time. Any tips on which trickle charger to buy and installation itself would be greatly appreciated. Evidently Nissan UK don't offer any help on this topic.
thanks
thanks
Hi
Ctek 3.8 charger (recomended by Litchfield)
Once attached to the terminals you can route the cable out of the windscreen end of the bonnet so you can keep it closed while charging
The short end of the cable that can permanently attach to the battery will reach all the way to the windscreen wiper so you can hook the cable under it, they also make an extension cable
A company called Ultimate finish sell them, I think Halfords do too!

alternatively route the mains cable to a suitable place and have a connector behind grille/ tucked in wheele arch etc etc there are waterproof mains connectors available which are more discreet than the the full on blue commando plug ... Ctek 3.8 charger (recomended by Litchfield)

brilliant many thanks all. assume your Nissan dealer didn't fit any of these but you did it yourself.
I got a trustworthy local garage to connect the lead with the battery eyelets, I would do it myself on any car where the battery terminals are on display but on the GTR they are half under a panel (though it IS removable) so when it was in for an MOT I just asked them to attach the lead, they did it quickly enough that they didn't bother charging (no pun intended)Litcfield also recommended an Optima Yellow Top battery so IF your battery has gone flat a few times it might be a good idea to start fresh with a new yellow top battery and fit the eyelet leads at the same time!
