Evening everyone

I've been looking on these forums for a while now, so thought it was time to register and say hello.

Currently I drive a mkiv supra twin turbo (aero-top). There are some pictures via the link in my profile - take a look! Its a superb car to drive; plenty of go, nicely balanced handling (providing you keep an eye on that second turbo round the twisties), and very comfortable at a cruise.

Look forward to meeting some of you at some meets in the not too distant furure

Cheers!

Very nice indeed. I've always wanted a black supra, but lacked the driving skill to pilot one. Hence my choice of different fast Toyota.

Are those Lexus wheels?

Very very nice.
as I have previously said (when gazboy got his) I wanted a Supra, and black was my pref choice. Never did find a UK manual single Turbo though.

Don't worry TT, the chaps in GG seem to think that 1998 Supra twin turbo 6spds are plentiful at £10k, so all 180 UK manuals will be for sale in the morning....

With VVTi, don't forget.

10 grand? I have 5.

Hi! I've had the UK brake upgrade, and it is worth every penny- should be unlawful to sell that car with JDM brakes imo.

evidently it's not considered a propblem in Japan where the max speed of a vehicle is limited to 112mph

Not in the temlple meads area - but but on the other side of the river and a bit further down

Any mods?

Coulnd't agree more Gazboy. This particular car spent its life doing bugger all to be honest - came over almost totally standard with the limiter still on and 38,000km (23,600 BIMTA guaranteed miles approx), not bad for a car thats only 11 years old.

Anyway since then - a veilside titanium exhaust (extemely lighwieght) & de-cat pipes have been fitted. IMHO a full de-cat with restrictor ring (+Thor FCD) is the best mod you can do to a supra part from thhe brakes. After this the law of diminishing returns starts to kick in. The car is so much more responsive - the power has been estimated at about 360-370 brake.

Yes - they're the optional sport wheel fitted to some GS300's, and are probably the only aftermarket wheel I'd fit to a supra, as they are the exact correct offset (40, to compensate for the extra half inch in width at either end - the stock wheel ofset is 50), they're durable (most polished rims don't take well to our salty winters), and reasonably lightweight.

As to lacking the driving skill Mr E, have a look here: www.donpalmer.co.uk/carcontrol.htm

I did the fundamentals course last sunday - believe me its done wonders for my driving skills, so if you're worried, buy a supra and then do a Don (free plug for him but I don't care they're brilliant!)

Main reason the Jap brakes are crap.

Big Don is on my list.

I actually reckon a bike test would do wonders for my observation.

Why four wheel drive mate? Rear wheel drive's so much fun and can be very rewarding!

Welcome dude, lovely clean car you have there. With basic BPU mods, like you have, i got 337bhp to the wheels, so you do the math for the flywheel figure.

Agree with the brakes. Borrowed my mums Audi A6 the other day as the bumper was off. I nearly bit the steering wheel as its brakes were so dramatically better. Poor show there I think, need to get me some UK 6pots.

I love the stability and security that 4wd gives....theres nothing more satisfying that saying "bye bye" to rear drives in the twisties...in the wet!

Fair enough Deltafox, each to their own - I'm the first to admit supra can car be a bit "oo-er" on damp roads.

Thanks for the welcomes, Big M and Getrag. Crikey you must know things are bad when your mums A6's brakes are better!

No kidding either, they were 3 times better with about 3 times as less power to stop...what the hell is that all about?
