370z Import, instrumentation language change
Discussion
A question probably directed to someone with experience of importing a 370z, or someone perhaps connected to Nissan, but does anyone know if it's possible to alter the language from a factory setting of Japanese to English for the instrument read outs?
My son has a good car but Japanese is one of those languages, in written form, that you just can't guess at and it's driving him nuts!
The North American owners manual states states that you can change from English to French but as my sons owners manual is in Japanese.....who knows!? Even navigating through the the instrument buttons, all in Japanese, is somewhat err, difficult

Can you borrow an English manual from someone on the owners club? That's how I got my English Skyline manual as the original is just as unfathomable as your son's Unless they've changed then it was a pretty straight translation.
Failing that, any friends/colleagues can read it?
Last resort, ask and importer alot of them will have had similar questions.

Ok good news and bad . This is how you change language on the UK model , and I dont have japanese as an option
Japanese word for english is 英語 * and not supported on this forum so you will need to google it
first step is to scroll through the options after start up and look for this layout
Scroll down and select options and you'll see this layout
Scroll to and select language and just scroll through until you see the Japanese word above or just try them all

Thanks for the replies
I think your first sentence liner contains all the info I need in that Japanese isn't an option when you scroll though the options. From that I can assume that 'English' isn't going to be an option on a car built for the Japanese home market and is backed up by the fact that cars supplied to the North American market only have the option to change between English and French as I discovered by searching the issue further.
I'll go with tommmo's suggestion and get my son to have a word with the importer.
Thanks guys
