Toyota import engines tech question (1ZZ-FE)
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I am aware this car will be a bit out of place here, but I REALLY want to buy a Japanese import 1.8 Corolla (2005 one).
Supposedly it comes with a 1ZZ-FE engine.
The dealer swears is the same kind of engine as in similar generation UK cars, but I am skeptical as Wikipedia seems to disagree.
The guy is willing to give me 6 months guarantee, but I am worried what happens when I stay on my own with a ten+ years old engine that only parts from Japan could fix.
Do you guys know anything about the repair-ability of the 1ZZ-FE in the UK?
Cheers!

I'd be more worried about the 1zz engines propensity for oil burning, pre-cat failure, and impending doom than serviceability.
Why do you really want a imported corolla? there are plenty around that are not imports?
Why not buy a UK T-Sport with the 2zz engine. Much better, more reliable e.t.c
There is a guy on here with a red one that looks good.
