Legacy buying advice please.....

Hi folks,

My friend is considering buying a Legacy estate to replace his Vectra GSi, is there a FAQ page anywhere that covers all the usual questions:
Twin v single v no turbo
UK v JDM
Fuel octane requirements
Model guides
Performance
Servicing
Common faults
Maual v auto

Just been sarching on the web for the last half hour and although there seems to be a plethora of online info for the Impreza, there's not very much for the Legacy. All I've found out about is the VOD!

Any links to useful webpages etc or any other helpful advice (things you wish you'd known when buying) would be very much appreciated.

Can only comment on the GTB but here are some points:

Its Blinkin Fast
There is bugger all info on it on the net
Think 20mpg or WORSE!!, and they only drink super

Build is better than the Imprezza
The engines can and do go pop
Thay are not the easiest thing to drive smoothly thanks to the turbo setup.

I used to have the UK spec single turbo version (L reg). Mine was the estate version which looks better than the saloon. It had 200bhp as standard and handled very nicely. Not as fast as the GTB but still sub 7 second 0-60. I got about 24mpg on average. Mine was extremely reliable.
