Hey

Would anyone happen to have a link or know how to remove the rear bumper for mazda 6 2nd gen.?

I have joined up to most of the mazda forums and where there are threads most of the attachments are now gone. The other threads that are good are for the first gen.

Cheers

You shouldn't really need a guide, as it's all pretty straight forward.

Open the boot,

remove both rear outer lights (three bolts holding the body of the lamp inside the quarter trims) and pull them backwards to slide them off a clip in the rear quarter.

with the lamps out, you'll see a srcrew and a big trim clip on each side that need to be removed,

remove the screws and clips that hold the arch liners to the bumper (one of them is underneath a couple of inches behind the rear of the arch)

With the arch liner pulled forwards, you'll find a screw per side that holds the front top corner of the bumper to the rear quarter that needs to be removed (where the bumper meets the rear quarter)

There are then two further big clips either side of centre underneath, remove these

With that little lot removed, pull each side of the bumper outwards (away from the rear quarter panel) as it is only held there in a long plastic clip (starting at the wheel arch)

Pull the rear bumper (quite firmly) backwards, and the rear bumper should come off (if you have rear parking sensors, have someone on hand to unplug them whilst you hold the bumper)

Brilliant many thanks for that.

I had a quick peek last night and i may not need to take bumper off now, (installing parking sensors) there seems to be room from underneath to manoeuvre cables,

thx
