Not done one on these but is it a conventional one that runs off the cam belt? If so then the basic procedure is change the cam belt and tensioner, 2 or 3 bolts to remove the water pump, cam belt back on. Not exactly child's play, and a couple of hours depending on how difficult the access is. On a FWD hatch these are *hopefully* reasonable. Modern cars are getting tighter though, the days of the Mk2 Escort when you could get in the engine bay and walk round the engine are gone.

These engines are chain driven, dont know how this will affect the water pump?

Nothing on tv so thought I'd check through the manuals ;0)

Its in service manual 1:
Standard external mounted pump driven by the alternator belt at the rear of the block.
On paper looks nice and easy. keep your fingers crossed!!

Hope this helps

Thanks for the link - wondered if there was an OC for these cars.
