Celica alarm going off when door opened.

Hi,

I am having some issues with my alarm all of a sudden on my 7 Gen Celica.

This morning I used the key fob to unlock it and when I opened the door the alarm went off.
I tried this several times and still it goes off.
I needed to get to work so I sat in the car and waited for it to stop and then started the car so I could get to work, however as soon as I got out the alarm went off again.
The blinking red light (Security light) was a solid light whilst the car was started, however I am not sure if it normally is?
Any ideas what this could be?

battery on it's way out? (fob or car) or bad earth somewhere?

Hi mate, I own a gen 7 Celica and this is a common problem. Its normally caused by having coins or loose items in the centre cup holders near the handbrake. Remove anything you have in there and I'm almost certain it will solve your problem.
