Emailed Miguel @ Newera last night about importing a bit of a drift slag... He used this as an example of what they can get.
It's the coolest kind of cool, because 99% of people just won't "get it."

One of Japans' ultimate Q cars?looks like an 80's exec car .Read somewhere that the geometry & pow/bal are almost purr-fect for a drift slag & that now almost all the useable AE86's are gone the Silvia is in demand.Worth a gamble/investment? what you guys think?

Yeah - I'm not soo sure about the electric speedo myself!
Still, as you said that's hardly the point!
When it means you have a sodding big tach right in front of you, one supposes one could live with it?
I like it a lot - but what was the point of this car (presumably it's a contemporary of the S13 200 SX - which -at least outside of Japan- was supposed to be the successor of the first gen Silvia (180 SX)) from the manufacturer's point of view??
Weird fish, those Japanese. Shame they always restricted their export policy to the most mundane and boring exponents of their ranges (with a few notable exceptions!) - I bet Japan is chockful of interesting machinery that most here never heard of.
