Just bought a new truck with the 4G15, single cam, engine. Only done 33,000 in ten years, regularly serviced, but can't find any info' on a cam belt change. Anyone know if these engines are safe or do they destroy themselves if the belt goes? I will be changing it just as soon as I can, in the meantime just wondered how hard I need to keep my fingers crossed...
Thanks.

Nothing definitive, but there's plenty of anecdotal evidence on forums that it is an interference engine.

Thanks for replying - had a little browse round the forums myself but didn't know of any specific places to look... Think I'll sort it just as soon as t'other half gets back from Devon. Ha, new fangled overhead cam engines, didn't have these worries with my old pushrod lumps!!
