Whys the flywheel and clutch not in Mr E?

Regarding the caliper clearances....

Its possible you may be able to use a "distance" peice" between the caliper and hub to effectively drop the caliper inwards by around 5 to 10 mm..depends on your materials...
Only slight downside to this is the discs will need to be non standard GT4 items with a shallower bell.
Ill see if i can find a photo of the same conversion done on the Golf to give you and idea.
I got 285's inside a 15 inch wheel that way...otherwise impossible.

Just didn't happen. I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks. It's going in then.

I'm not sure I want to muck about too much. I'll just punt them on and buy a set of something that fits.

Hey, could be worse. I'm chilled now.

Bloody well wasn't earlier.

Anyone want some bloody good wheels and tyres for not a lot of money?

Big shame MrE,I'm surprised that it needs that much(<10mm)extra clearance, thats masses in anyones book & would prolly put strain on your wheel studs if you made up the difference with shims/spacers-I imagine .

On a lighter note.
So, off across the pond in a couple of weeks eh?.I assume an assasin of your standing would have all his marks movements/adgendas to hand & that you will have chosen your usual arsenal accordingly.I can strongly reccomend that you don't take the D/U tips on this 'outing',-they're such a b*gger to get thru U.S customs these days.Oh! & please bring back a souvineer,-say an ear or something

.....As usual this message will self destruct in several seconds.................................................................

Suspect you're right about the studs. Spacers and trackdays make for dead hubs pretty fast I think.

Yes, off to somewhere near Seattle shortly. Exact location and dates are, of course, between me and the client. He gets to find out the location and date as a bit of a suprise actually......

Why would anyone take the tools to the states. I just pop into Walmart and pick up everything I need.

Remember, the better you are, the closer you can get to the client. A sharpened kiwi fruit* is perfectly adequate in skilled professional hands.

Re: above.

Of course you can buy it in U.S. but do you you really trust them?Their policy on fruit & agriculture have been very lax recently, leaving the quality & reliability of said 'kiwis' in the field very questionable.
For gods sake man!,be safe & take a banana(peeled) for backup.

PMSL.

Taken out of context, that could be a worrying statement.....
