GTR....good place to advertise? Ebay?
Discussion
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on advertising via Ebay?
I always use PH's but I'm probably missing out on a large slice of the potential marketplace in doing so in isolation. I've tried Auto Trader on previous cars which has invariably been a complete waste of time.
I've been offered £57,500 by WeWantAnyCar (not to be confused with WeBuyAnyCar!), which is pretty much what I'm after but I'm really not keen on the idea - not sure why? Perhaps it's because they have a 3 day payment process during which time they keep your car in a secure compound - maybe ok for a £5K Mondeo but I'm not leaving a £60K GTR anywhere outside my Garage until it's been paid for!

There's also the GTR Owners Club website which is www.gtroc.org
I've sold cars to WeWant and WeBuy in the past. Normally there's an option for you to pay a small fee for "instant" transfer of funds via CHAPS. Costs around £35, IIRC.
Obviously your call but, in my opinion, if you consider this a good price for the GT-R then even if they charge you £100 for the privilege of instant payment that has to be money well spent to avoid the muppet brigade you'll encounter on eBay etc.
Neil.

I called one company on Friday. I won't mention names but the appealing part was that they come to me to check out the car instead of me having to take the car to some depot.
On Friday they quoted me £57,160 which was acceptable to me. The car is flawless and they found no issue...however, the £57K dropped a few grand for no reason at all. The chap who came to inspect was a great bloke and very helpful. But he wasn't buying the car and rang the company owner back for the final decision on their offer.
I'll stick to a private sale or could even see what Porsche will offer when my GT4 arrives. Luckily I still have a few months to sort it out.
