I really don't like polished rims myself, I think they look awful. It's all personal taste though.

I looked at black wheels for the Four (also red) came to the conclusion that black wheels with a red car just do not work. Sorry bud.

White wheels work, but are a bit Max Power.

Ended up with dark chrome lips and light gunmetal spokes. Pics soon.

Ok cheers guys, thats pretty unanimous then!

Gaz, what do you mean, they last 0.04s? before the finish gets ruined?

This means I'll be needing new wheels then - look out for a "what wheels for mister 2" thread coming to a forum near you soon!

(I saw a red rev 2 on the m42 going to work this morning, he had "flat" style five spokes - looked like kahn type ones....they any good?)

Polished rims last about 0.04sec in this country- not worth it.

My man in Aylesbury has just done a mock-up of my brakes and wheels- close is a word that doesn't justify how snug it's going to be, infact it's going to be so tight that he's already sourced some UK wheels for me just incase my wheels don't fit over the calipers, and I have to send them back and get something else.

ffs! Front wheels don't clear the calipers! Back to the shop....

btw- these brakes are fecking huge!

for new wheels or smaller brakes?

Have a look at Rays wheels, they are some of the best you can buy IMHO. I'm looking to get a set of these for my car.

They look like they cost a penny.

My old wheels were BK racing bullshits, black crome 7 spoke 225 x 18 (I know that's the tyre size), with JDM brakes.

300mm brakes with 4 pots should have no trouble at all in 18" wheels. Is it just a stupid spoke design?

On a black MR2, black wheels with polished rims look great if you get the right style and don't buy huge 18" ones.

I don't think it works on red ones though.
