Subaru Cosworth or Mitsubishi Evo X FQ440?
Discussion
I don't want to start a big fight but I would like some thoughts (particularly from owners of either car) as to which would be a better car out of a Subaru Cosworth CS400 and a Mitsubishi Evo X FQ440, as I am keeping my eyes open in view of buying one or the other shortly.
I am a awd fan and have a wife and two kids so I need the four seats and a bit of boot space before you start telling me I should get a Z4M or something like that!
I have already owned a Cosworth but I had to sell it due to a change in work circumstances . Things are looking up again now but I want to make sure before I go and buy another Cosworth .
I would be interested in what you think

Haha, first reply and it's go and buy a different car to the ones listed. Classic PH style.
I'm an evo fan through and through! all the way up to the 9 they we're just a better car, more edgy and rarer on the road. The 10 has never sat right with me and was too much of a departure, not sure if it was dropping the iconic 4G63 or just the fact it looked st in comparison but out of the two cars listed I'd have a hard time choosing too!
My heart would say the Evo still as it's still an awesome steer but it'll just come down to looks preference really.

Thanks for replying,
I would love a GT-R but my wife wouldn't be too impressed when she tried to get our youngest kid in and out of the car seat I have already eyed up a few with the Litchfield mods on but I think that might be pushing the boat out .
I also think the GT-R is a bit lower than the Subaru or Mitsubishi and I hate grounding out on drive entrances etc, where as I know the Subaru coped with 3-4 inches of snow without damaging the front bumper and I think the Mitsubishi would be similar.
I am tempted by the Mitsubishi as I have never had one and the X is civilised enough to take the family in whereas the V1111 was a bit too extreme for the family on long journeys and for general use.
Are the reports correct regarding the very high running and servicing costs on the Mitsubishi?
I would be glad of any more thoughts or comments.

Guy at work had an Evo 9 and said the ride (for every day) was horrendous and wished he'd never bought it. Running costs are high, but that depends on your view and definition of 'high'.I would love a GT-R but my wife wouldn't be too impressed when she tried to get our youngest kid in and out of the car seat I have already eyed up a few with the Litchfield mods on but I think that might be pushing the boat out .

Wait for the new Focus RS and get an MR upgrade. Will probably be around 450bhp...
Nice one Since the RS info has come out I have been waiting for that comment and I am beginning to think it might be worth the wait although I am not sure it will have quite the same feel as the CS400 but only time will tell.

Thanks, I realised the 9 was a bit harsh for family/everyday use.
Regarding running costs, I was more thinking about the servicing intervals and costs on the FQ440, rather than just the fuel.
