Mitsubishi Colt electrical problems
Discussion
Hi All. My wife's car has developed some electrical gremlins this evening...
Interior fan and ac not on
central locking failed
Fog light failed
It's a 2005 Colt 1.1
A google search reveals the same fault from someone else, but there is no definitive answer. I'm hoping that it will be as simple as a fuse but it's too dark to check now.
Anyone else come across this?

The "other half" complained - exactly the same problem - blower u/s and no central locking on her 04plate colt equipe - Well pleased with great advice - same remedy - what a stupid position for fuses on the positive batt terminal!
Fortunately only Fuse 1 corroded but just enough copper left to solder in a copper wire bridge between fuse and terminal
Well done guys!

Hey guys, fantastic to see that this exact same issue has been encountered elsewhere. I've went ahead and ordered the same part - as I'm now 99.9% sure this is the issue. Need to wait for it for about 8-10 days. Luckily I can still drive the car, but with -13 degrees coming up - it will be pretty darn difficult without heating 😂
However, I've tried to remove the red plastic cap over the positive terminal to also inspect the old fuse box. No chance...
How did you guys take that piece off?
And then, once it's off, is there enough space to work around it, or the air filter casing needs to be removed?
Thanks a bunch in advance,
Cristi

So, finally my part arrived. Had a bit of hard time removing the red plastic cover (as it was stuck due to dust accumulating underneath) - but just used a large flathead screwdriver to pry it open - and it was all fine. Then I cleaned it nicely, and now it just removes easily by pulling up. Replacing the part was just a matter of unscrewing 7 nuts. For more clearance you can just remove the air filter intake. Just make sure to note down the wire order (to put them back in the same order)
All working as expected now.

This thread has saved me taking my car to the garage and unwanted expense, exactly what was wrong with my car found the part on eBay for £33 genuine Mitsubishi part came within 2 days abd my dad managed to take the broken part of and fit the new part in 20minutes!
Thankyou so much 😊
