I'm thinking of getting a shed for commuting use etc. But I also want something with a bit of comfort and 'image' so apart from e46 BMWs or the like I've been thinking about an IS200.

Looking to spend shed money so circa £1000. Is this viable or not? What should I be looking out for? Any advice/ experience appreciated.

Generally very reliable, except for the aforementioned cd player.......the early ones suffered from collapsing ignition barrels circa 50k miles, and the original spec Bridgestone tyres are the cause of what seems like alignment issues. A change to Goodyear asymmetric 2s cured all kinds of ride and wear problems on ours.

Just watch for breaking issues pistons on the calipers tend to seize plus alot of these cars seem to sit about without much driving due to fuel and tax costs other than that nothing much else was probably the most reliable car i ever bought.
