Differences between WRX and WRX STI
Discussion
I've just purchased a cheapie WRX (for approx. 2,200GBP - $6,000NZD with 192,000kms on the clock, mint condition having just had a major service).
Anyway, the car is bog standard and I've been browsing the internet looking at parts and see there are lots of STI bits available here in NZ for reasonable money. I'm just wondering what the differences are between the standard WRX and an STI - anyone know them all?
As far as I can tell the following appear to be different :
Decked block
Better rods and pistons (forged?)
Airflow meter
intercooler
injectors
ECU
fuel pump
exhaust
brakes
springs
I don't want to modify it too much, I'll probably just get a decent set of shocks/springs, full exhaust (manifold to tailpipe) and maybe a pod-filter.

Try having a look at the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club (SIDC) FAQ on their webpage: www.sidc.co.uk

There's far too many little differences. It depends on the year of manufacture & the options list.
What year is it?
Old shape UK Imprezas were only 208 bhp or 215 bhp in later years The Australian WRX is pretty much the same as the UK Impreza turbo, and very different to the Japanese spec WRX. Talk about confusing!!
