Lexus SC430 Import Issues

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has bought an SC430 import, for a start all the switch gear is in Japanese, but so are all the menus.

Would the PH Massive know anywhere he can take his car to get his software updated to be UK spec?

He'd be better getting a cheat sheet with the Japanese codes written down so he could understand them. It's not a simple re-flash, far from it. the JDM Topyota Soarer (SC430) is built with substantially different computers. Nightmare job to complete. To tell the truth, it would be cheaper and simpler to buy another UK spec SC430 and strip all you wanted off it to convert it. Put all the jap stuff and jap looms on the other Soarer SC 430 and sell it on again... Take photo's if you decide to do it that way.

My recommendation, either live with it, or sell it someone who'd love all that JDM stuff going on in the car.

My first SC a 1993 TT was a JDM and only showed me Japanese language fault codes on the lower screen, but I got the cheat sheet from Planet Soarer and laminated it to the inside of the glovebox. After a week or so, I knew all the regular ones like low washer level and engine cold etc.
