Skyline 350GT/G35 Coupe as a half-sensible family car?
Discussion
After having my Lexus written off by some old duffer the other week, I'm back looking for cars.
The Lexus was OK, but a little bland for my liking. I'm really drawn towards the G35 Coupe/350GT/ Skyline Crossover/whatever they're called. Would it be in any way suitable for general "big car" duties. To give an idea of intended use, we have a tatty Clio for carting bikes about, nipping to the shops (i.e. general dirty work), we have a wee boy (car seat age, for at least another 5 years), and take some fairly long-distance trips from Scotland to Cambridge/London/Bristol every now and again. Fuel economy is not a concern, otherwise I'd be looking at diesel Saabs or similar.
The wife likes the look of them compared to BMW/Audi in the same price range, and I'm taking that as a green light to buy one, but will I regret it?
350z owners opinions welcome, as as far as I can tell it's a 350 with back seats.

WRT to it being like a 350z I believe (but don't quote me on this) that the engine in the GT is slightly de-tuned to about 225bhp IIRC ish?
270bhp I think. There were also smaller engined 250GT and 300GT versions with 215 and 260 bhp respectively before the 350GT was made.Gassing Station | Japanese Chat | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
