Guys im trying to help a friend of my wife get out of a pickle. long story short she has a lexus rx and has been told on a couple of instances that the engine is borked both by a lexus dealer and then by an independent. the car simply failed to start one day with no prior warning. nobody has yet given a definitive diagnoses but the car is now somewhere in derbyshire waiting for the reputed specialist to source a suitable replacement engine despite already promising he had one.

in the meantime my wifes friend has spent over 1500 quid on rentals and its getting to be a pain ferrying the kids around in it

i thought id put the feelers out to see if someone here could offer some help to sort these guys out... they are not car people at all and i reckon their good nature if being taken advantage of...

I'm not sure they are a Lexus specialist, but I can recommend Japex in Kings Langley. Use them for my Celica and they've been very good. Time served Toyota mechanics,so worth a shout.

Stuart at Japex looks after a number of Lexus cars and is certainly worth popping along to see over in Kings Langley. A top mechanic and a wonderful chap too. They are in new premises and doing very well.
