JDM KEI cars

hi, does anyone know if anyone either imports or retails the Japanese microcars (typically 660cc or thereabouts)in the uk ?
they are known as JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) KEI cars so it maybe that they are not exported but the odd one is occasionally seen. I have seen some old threads and gone through Google but there is nothing obvious to me. Honda/toyota/subaru all do/did them domestically. I was thinking of calling Litchfield if no luck here.
I just fancy a 4wd supercharged little fizzy thing - could be fun.

Would be worth speaking to Jurgen at JM imports or Torque GT. Works out a fair bit more expensive but would be very cool!

Do a search for the site Kei cars in the park.
I got to know it when I had my Avanzato Tx R4

Easiest way into them is to buy an old Suzuki Capucino or Daihatsu Copen (UK sold and easily insurable, etc).

There are so many more fantastic kei cars in Japan, and very few are imported. Some are sold here - http://kkitp.com/3/index.php/forum3/index/trading/... - I went to their last event, and they are a very friendly bunch.

I've got a soft spot for the Autozam AZ1: mid-engine and gull-wing doors.

i saw this car when searching for nothing in particular and this is what sent me in the Kei car direction.
I like the concept but would prefer something newer.
this is to replace a 1998 rav 4 when the time comes..

Good luck then, apres 2000 or thereabouts 'sanity' took over and the JDM market appears to go for quirky looks as against performance, well as much as 64 bhp allows however I'm on Mays side re. the Caterhams...less can be more.
