My Primera has me confused. It's supposed to be a 97 2.0 GT I believe this makes it a P11. It's had a new P11 exhaust, which fitted perfectly. However, I went to get a dizzy cap and it has caused all manner of confusion.

I tried three before unravelling the mystery. It appears that the distributor cap is from the W10 (The estate that ran from 1990-98)

Does anyone know if they fitted this distributor on the P11 for a while?

I have checked the engine No's and they tally. I don't think it's a ringer at the moment, the No's look alright etc, but I am confused as to why it takes the wrong distributor cap, particularly as it costs £26 instead of £9!!!

Can any P11 experts help me unravel the mystery.

This doesnt answer your prob directly-may help some tho.I'm not a primera guru, but do have some experience of nissan's parts numbering c*** ups!.
It seems that many nissan parts are interchangeable from models in the same range.Example:I recently needed to change steering column in my '95R33 skyline GTST(16 variants between94-98)So there were 7 different serial numbers for GTST type s/columns alone,& another 6 for GTR's.In the end,it transpired that all of them (bar the V-specGTR)were all identical in manufacture. Many other parts seem to follow suit,-if looks like it'll fit,it probably will.
