having been with bikes for years, and mainly being honda's, i have just used www.davidsilverspares.co.uk for my parts, as they do everything i would want in the life of the bike pretty much.

but now having got a car, i need a place i can get parts from for mitsubishi's, specifically a Galant GLS 2.0

don't really want to pay main dealer prices as they would be through the roof, and there are probably not that many in breakers yards, so i an trying to find a website that has all ranges and models and trim levels for mitsi's like davidsilvers, for new old stock or used but good nick.

i know i could look on ebay for ages but there isn't always what I need, like i might need a new boot lid. (hopefully not, but cannot find any on the 'bay, just incase though)

anyone?

Hi,
A lot of older Mitsubishi stuff is getting hard to find. What year is yours? . Some panels might still be available through motor factors, generic engine parts like starters, alternators , water pumps etc are shared across the range and with many Hyundai models, so they're relatively easy to find. Interior stuff, you're best off joining the galant owners club.

Main dealers aren't too bad. I can get a windscreen for an 81 lancer turbo for £120 , not a bad price I think. Try them, you might be surprised.

ah ok, well i think I'm ok on the interior stuff, its immaculate, if not the colour i would choose. but for what i paid, and how good it drives, i couldn't say no really.

its a 2.0 litre GLS.

I'm just looking for some new drums and shoes for the back (and all the springs and stuff that puts it together) and perhaps a starter motor.

the starter motor still works, as do the breaks, but the brakes are grinding, and I'm not sure if thats where its been sat for a while, or they are worn right out, and the starter makes a funny high pitched whine when starting, just sounds like its spinning a bit too much when it is spinning, and its a bit loose, if you know what i mean.

had not thought about the galant owners club, might have to have a look now.

cheers

Try Camskill, they're pretty good for Mitsubishi stuff.

K, after driving it for a short bit today, the brakes are no longer grinding, so i think it was just a bit of rust.

i have looked at cam skill but they only really have stuff for the VR4. not the 2 litre.

Try cherry hill mitsubishi in the states. You can search every part and order online, good for getting an idea of part availability, part number and price. They ship to the UK with reasonable postage if you are not in a rush. I get stuff for my 3000gt fairly regularly with no issues.

Also, if you download the Mitsubishi ASA application as described here...

http://www.3si.org/forum/f1/mitsubishi-asa-thread-...

You can look up any part, its number and illustrations for your car as a dealer would, makes it easier to order parts from the dealer.

Brighton Mitsi seem to be the most helpful of the dealers in this country.

I've found http://www.amayama.com/ good if you have the part number. Shipping is a bit slow, but cant beat their prices.
