After watching a few videos of GTRs being launched i've noticed that there is barely any wheelspin, even from the highly tuned ones. When i launch mine first gear is all wheelspin and i'm sure it's hurting my time.

Is there a way of changing the launch revs like the BMW E9X M3?

there is a pedal down next to the brake somewhere, on the right (i think) you could try pressing it more gently

Ive had the 2013 gearbox software uploaded to my 09 GTR by litchfield and it allows you to preset the desired revs for launch control to your preference.

Ive still never used it though. getmecoat

now how do i know if i have this? Mine is a 2011 model, Litchfield stage 4. I know the boost level is adjusted via the cruise control but not sure about the launch revs

The adjustable launch control is only available with the Litchfield/ecutek software.
When in launch mode you just adjust the holding rpm with the cruise control switch as you would with the boost.(making sure the boost gauge is not showing on the mfd or you will adjust that instead)
It can be set between 2,500rpm and 4,500rpm.

Do you have the traction control in R mode or switched off? It should be in R along with the transmission.

I'll try that this weekend.

I've never tried to launch with it turned off, always in R.

Doesn't lots of wheelspin suggest that the clutchpack is gone, i.e. you're getting virtually no drive to the front.

I'm getting plenty of drive to the fronts, my mate filmed me launching and all 4 wheels are spinning all the way through first and into second.

It still hit 60 in 3 seconds dead, i just expected it to be a bit quicker.

Kai, did you buy the car already modded, or did you have the upgrades done yourself?

Either way, Ian Litchfield is always happy to answer questions about his stuff, just give the office a call.

I bought the car modded, i'm going to get it to Litchfield in the new year for a service and check over and maybe go stage 5 if my boss is generous with the bonus. Had it out this weekend but didn't launch it as it was too wet.

I's running the Bridgstone runflats that i believe are OE, they were brand new when i bought the car 2k ago so have plenty of tread and it does this in the bone dry even after ive been for an aggressive run or done multiple starts in a row plus it's been very mild for this time of year around Heathrow

Dunlops are OE, that might be part of the problem.

The tyres are BRIDGESTONE Potenza RE070R R2 RFT which are Bridgestone says are developed specially for the GTR and are OE for the V-Spec in Japan so i doubt they are the problem

The Bridgestones were OE for the GTRs sold in japan and the Dunlops were for the UK cars.
As far as i am aware they are the only runflats available in the GTR factory sizes in the UK.

Ned, I think the Bridgestones were fitted to pre 2011 UK cars too.

I've just had a set on my 12 car, they grip very well, very pleased with them (except for the price of course) smile

No they weren't - all UK cars from 2009 were supplied with Dunlops.

Having said that, I fitted Bridgestone RE070 when they need changing and was very happy with them.

I had Bridgestones on mine, changed for Michelin last time. Better ride and wet grip.

UK spec 09 car had factory fit dunlops when I got it.
