Cant afford one yet, anyone have any guess as to where they will go price wise over the next couple or three years ?

Are the Jap Imports worth looking at ?

I have not been paying massive attention to them recently but from what I can gather ( ie a quick look in the classifieds) 2009 uk cars are starting at about £35k, so they are not falling like a stone which is nice (I have a 2009 which I paid £42k for over 2 years ago).

Best place to ask is http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/

Cheers

they do seem to be holding steady, and I suppose they should, I guess for 35 grand there is no other way you can get that kind of performance, especially in something that is reliable.

Decent R34 GTRs are still knocking on 30k, was looking at the performance figures, standard vs standard, 12.3 to 100 vs 7.3, didnt realise how huge the gulf in performance was, nearer in performance (straight line) to a 350Z than the R35, wonder how much rarity and classic status count, am guessing that there are more R35s about than R34 GTRs.

I cant see them dropping under 30 grand for a good while to come, suppose the nearest older comparison would be a 996TT, ok, its a Porsche but not a special or sought after variant with the beards, very fast and fairly numerous. They havent dropped below 20 grand.

I think anythign with that kind of performance will alwasy be very desirable.

I paid £39k for an 09 car 18 months ago im confident i could get £37k for it now.
£35k is about the starting price for 09 uk cars but you will be surprised at the amount of tat out there at the starting price. I looked at some shockers which at the time were less than 3yrs old.

The higher price of the newer MY GTRs along with the cars rareity are keeping values up. To some people the £75k premium for a new GTR doesn't justify the minor tweeks when you can buy and modify an older car to a better spec for a fraction of the cost.

The earlier jap cars can be had for around £30k but tend to be avoided due to most of the instrumentation (of which there is a lot) being in japanese and gearbox woes.

I personally cant see values of the early cars dropping much in the next yr or so and think it will be a long, long time before they are sub £30k.

Wow, it seems we've bought the same car for the same price at around the same time biggrin I'd be chuffed if I could get £37k to be honest. Dealerships offering 30k best last I asked.

I think there was a Cat D 09 GTR on eBay that was going for 29k. Disappeared now though.

My guess would be around spring 2015 for decent 09 UK cars to be around 29/30k.

prices will drop when the new gtr gets released. R34's didn't drop in price that much when the current gtr came out as it wasn't a direct replacement, it was nearly 7 years difference between end of r34 and start of r35. Also as far as i'm aware they were never sold in the uk which makes them rarer.

Dealers will never offer you good money on trade in. Just going of whats in the classifieds, providing its a very tidy car with no issues, low mileage and no big bills looming i would say £37k is a fair price to advertise for a private sale.

What they are actually changing hands for im not sure.

The Cheapest GTR's of any kind are ten grand, R32's at 22 years old are in the region of ten grand, R33's and R34s even more, I think a good R35 bought at the right money, somewhere in the thirties could be a fairly depreciation proof car. Ok no GTR is cheap to run, but they seem robust and used sparingly and treated sympathetically I could see one lasting well and not causing financial ruin. I think resisting the modding thing would be the most difficult expense to avoid, to me it seems that anyone that goes to a specialist for service gets a vast amount of temptation so keeping it standard would be my plan, or at least buy one with the standard stuff already done plus a recent service, tyres and brakes.

Its a way off for me, my plan is before I am 50 in seven years time.

R32's and 33's can be had anywhere from £6k if you shop around , sure probably not mint examples but decent standardish cars

R34's seem steady at £20k plus frown
