Has anybody ever owned one of these? I have been around the houses with a few crazy plans for replacing the Legnum (new shape clio 200!!) but then I remembered my love of fast barges!

I remember seeing one years ago on the A14 near cambridge but never seen one up close, or even for sale for that matter!!

If you do have one, or have had one, how do you think it would compare against my current Legnum VR-4? Are there anay even for sale currentl (an internet search tells me no!)

Cheers

Gary

I'm curious about these as well, seem pretty rare and having owned an mr2 turbo before I know how tunable the 3SGTE is. The VR4 is a great car though. I had a manual Legnum and loved it to bits. After it was stolen I moved onto a manual Evo IX GT wagon and although it is dynamically awesome I do miss the smoothness of the 6A13TT and the fact that is was an awesome Q car. Caldina sounds interesting for sure..........

Guessing you mean GT-T rather than GT-4?

Couple of mates have had them, I wasn't that impressed. Slower, thirstier and worse handling than my Legacy GTB. Those were autos though, I expect the manuals are a bit better.

ETA: its the ST215 I'm talking about there, haven't tried an ST246.

GT-T would be a Nissan stagia?

Caldina GT4 is a Toyota estate with a 3SGTE and 4wd. Vanishingly rare. Fensport had one to tow the insane corolla/celica.

GT-4 is a Celica. GT-T is a Caldina. Well thats what the badge on the back says. wink

Not particularly rare in my part of the world either, though manual ones certainly are. Quicker Stageas generally tend to be RS-Four badged.

ETA: I see they did move to the GT-Four name for the 3rd-gen Caldina turbo, maybe thats the one the OP means.

Aye that be the one! around 2007-ish is the shape I mean. Got a serious hankering for one right now but have absoloutely no clue about them other than they are based on an avensis with a 3sgte and 4wd with a 4 speed auto!

I actually thought they were all badged gt-four. How confusing. smile

From very vague memory the import rules changed at about the point these things turned up, and as a result they were more expensive to bring in. I recall being told there were 3 in the country.

This was some significant time ago and I have nothing to back it up. It's quite possibly utter crap...

Having owned a 1999 Caldina GTT good fun fairly quick, practicle & very reliable. The Caldina GT4 came in 2002 ish & although a nicer looking car beleive to be heavier& only produced as an auto.

Out of interest how does the Evo IX wagon drive? I found the standard Evo a bit dissppointing unless you drove it like you stole it, but the idea of all that capability in an estate makes me smile.
