Hi Everyone,

We've been asked by someone to give an opinion/advice on a Nissan 280ZX. The car has been stored for the last 6+ years (dry) and the owner is now moving and now longer has a garage so has asked us to give an opinion on what the best 'thing' to do with it is.

I don't know much about these cars so forgive my lack of knowledge(apart from a brief read in which they seemed to have a rather bad reputation-I gather these dont have the cult following a 240/260 does!)

Its silver, automatic, all the electrics work, interior is very good, t-bar roof, on original wheels etc and it does start/move around. Not sure on miles think its around 70k

It was last taxed/mot'd 06 and was then garaged for a small fault (although the owner cant remember what that was!)

The not so good is, its rather rusty; we haven't looked underneath yet but the following areas are affected from eye level.

Rust around aerial
Rust on T-Bars
Major rust on the inside lower bonnet skin including large chuncks missing on the hinge area
Rust around the window seams
Various small patches on the bodywork but arches etc are good

It will obviously also need a good service, the brakes will no doubt need investigating and a fluid flush including oils etc will surely be a wise choice. The tyres have also seen better days!

I guess my question is....what is the vehicle worth as it stands? Is it worth putting the money into fixing it up and if so what would a running, MOT'd, good condition 280ZX be worth? Are parts easy to find?

Is there any following for them out there?

Any help would be much, much appreciated!

Thanks
