Anyone know any good sources in the North for recon engines? I've seen plenty advertised on ebay but on researching the seller's they all appear to be dodgy!

Already tried that and ended up with an engine worse than I started with.

It's a bit of a gamble unfortunately! Would it not be worth buying a good working MR2, then transferring all the good bits from yours onto it, then selling your own for parts minus the engine?

Have a word with the guys in the 750MC MR2 Championship. Rogue run loads of MR2s so must know some decent engine builders.

These guys deliver to everywhere:

At least 1 PH member has had an engine for an MR2 from them.

I bought a engine from him last year, very happy...

He has a good rep for mk3 MR2 engines.

Although if the insurance is doable, I'd stick a 2zz in!

Try Paul Woods at Woodsport in Durham?

He spends enought time pulling engines out of MR2's for v6 conversions - he must have a yard full of them!
