I have one of these cars for running about in and this morning the window on the drivers side went down but not up. After a qwick strip down motor is running so switch ok but no movement from the window.

Looks like the cable has come off the pully it winds round.

So question.

Is this fixable or is it a new regulator?

It depends on what has caused the cable to jump off the pulley, this could be down to the cable snapping but could also be e.g. a broken pulley. If it's the cable you can buy a kit to replace this from eBay, otherwise you are looking at a new or s/h regulator.

Got it sorted. Looked like snapped cable so I got the repair kit and stripped it down but it was the pully thats on the motor all broken and no groves for the cable. Was about to order a new one from ADL, but phoned local scrao yard and they had one for much cheapness and its fitted working well.
