Fifth Gear - car parts/labour charges
Discussion
I work for Fifth Gear.
We're after the most outrageous car part prices charged by UK main dealers; £100 for a short piece of rubber pipe, that sort of thing. Or, an electronic plug in component that's so expensive it might make a five/ten year old car uneconomic to repair.
Also, we're after the most expensive garage in the UK.
If you've got any stories please email or call me on 0121 697 1904/ian.bayliss@northonetv.com (we must be able to identify the part).

Yup... Mr T is famous in Toyota circles for their stupid prices!! rear brake pads for MR2 Tubby were in the region of 60 quid! For rear pads..sheesh!
Sounds reasonable.
Ask any Toyota dealer for a quote on a clutch replacement for a ST205.
You'd better be sitting down first.

Just look at any NSX parts. £300 interior door handle. £250 each for brake discs. £1000 exhaust. £97 front brake pads. £800 radiator. £900 windscreen. £2000 boot lid.
Of course these parts are half the price in the States.

Nissan also have a similar sense of 'humor' with their pricing structure:Skyline GTSR33:standard alloys£700.00each!,windscreen£1000.00,B/discs£350.00each-etc-these ppl just make it up as they go along-perhaps they subsitute £-sign for Yen-sign.
