Suzuki Swift 1.0 GLS?

Hey people! I've recently started looking to buy my first car and i've set my heart on a swift. Obviously, i'd like the 1.3GTI but I morally refuse (and can't afford to) pay £7,500 for my insurance.
I was wondering whether you guys had any advice to offer on the 1.0 GLS? Good or bad, pitfalls, bonus' anything you guys could offer advice wise would be much appreciated.

Bloody hell, that's expensive for a GTI.
I bought a Swift for a customer of mine. What is it, about 998cc.
Won't set the world alight, wouldn't want to be involved in a big shunt in it, but runs well, seems pretty reliable (only been back to me once in a year with a faulty injector), pretty cheap on fuel.
The 3 cyl engine can be a bit alarming. It vibrates at low RPM, and makes the doors bounce. Quite normal for the engine, as there are no balancer shafts.
Nice and cheap, more reliable than a corsa.
