How?

Is it just a matter of snipping some wires?

Depends on the car.

It's an MR2.

Don't just snip the wires. Can confuse the ECU which needs to know the car's speed for other reasons.

I bought a Blitz Delimiter box for about 50 quid. Fitted, but I haven't tested it yet.

Why not just change the ecu for the de-limited version? I reckon "funsport" would most likely have one in for a reasonable price, better than chopping at wires or buying "add on" boxes..

(if anyone wants a spare ecu for a 3sgte (early), make me an offer as I have one spare.

Got a spare(Nismo type)ECR33 Skyline ECU too.

Your delimiting SHOULD have been done as standard when car was sva'ddon't snip any wires yet, part of the odometer calib kit can do it,also some have an electrical limiter on the top of accel pedal.

It's like running into a brick wall.

And replacement ECUs are expensive.....

The back end can get uncomfortably light when the limiter chimes in.

This is mainly why I want to get rid of it, although not being able to keep up with fellow petrolheads past 110 is also just a pain in the arse.

What's my best course of action then? Probably best to replace my dial too as it only goes up to 120.

Ah, they stuck a 'face' over the speedo. take off the face, and you should see numbers upto 180kph, then get a delimit device, this retards the signal by 60% (the difference between Km's and mph), stick a mph sticker over the kph print, sorted.

Any Jap car has to be delimited, so why get rid of the MR2 for the sake of a £120 part?

That's the jobbie,He's right y'know

So, where can I obtain this delimit device, and how do I install it?

Cheers for the help so far!
