So I managed to convince the wife that instead of paying off the mortgage, i should get a GTR instead and maybe it was the hot weather but she unexpectedly agreed! So here I am, loving my 09 GTR, windows down and listening to the growl of the engine. The problem is, sometimes it rains int eh UK so those windows are not going to be down all the time. And the 09 R-35 only comes with radio and a hard drive for storing music - i need to sync it to the iphone or any other USD device as I dont own any CDs as I stored them all as MP3s or I use Spotify. So my question is this, does anyone know of a way of allowing me to connect my iphone, either by bluetooth or by USB so I can use spotify or at the very least play tracks from a USB storage device? Ideally not through one of the radio channels as I would prefer a better quality of sound if possible.

thnaks in advance

Get onto gtr.co.uk forum, I think this has been asked before and the answer was no, but there are some very clever geeks over there.

I could connect my iPod and iPhone through a lead from the arm rest. You will need a cable though.

I have tried to get registered to post on gtr.co.uk but nothing is happening - think they are having issues.

I had a dension product before on an Audi but they dont make a unit that taps into the GTR unit so think i may have to go with one of their FM links, something like the ICE LINK ONE. Any one used this - is it any good or are there better products out there?

Check under your arm rest... there should be a USB port otherwise you have an import...

only a power output under the armrest - you sure it is an import - was registered initially in 2009 from middlehursts - would they have done imports at this time?

Mine is a 09 car too 59 reg and I have the USB lead under the arm rest. Yours sound like an import or very early UK model so I hope you didn't pay over £32,000 for it.

it was registered july 09 and paid £35k for it - had a brand new 2013 gear box fitted due to an issue that had come up under warranty. Would an import been covered under warranty?

Either way, have had a stage two and am extremely happy with the car, import or not - just the audio needs sorting.

Ah it's that car with the gearbox replaced then? Well...not too sure matey... best go ask MH with yours doesn't have a USB port. Have you really checked under the arm rest? AFAIK all UK cars should come with the USB port.

edit: Surprised Nissan provides warranty on a Stage 2 car? where was the mod done?

Ah ok... perhaps yours was the very first UK batches... mine is registered October 2009 and I definitely can use my iPod in the car via USB.

It's a minor issue anyway as long as you are happy with the car smile

Hi There

I bought mine June 09 from Middlehurst (new UK car and still have it) and it doesn't have a USB port - I'm guessing your car also doesn't have sat nav....from memory the sat nav cars were available from september 09 and I think that's when they introduced the USB port

Guy

PS If it doesn't have auto-dimming rear mirror, non-Bose sound system, it's one of the very exclusive "base" models, which I have, of which 32-ish were built....

They really seem to be holding there money don't they.

I had a 09 car, brought new in may 09 for 47k, sold in dec 09 for 52k with 7000 miles on the clock.

I reakon I could have had another 18 months use and still broke even.

Think we got a little off topic - although i think that because only the 09 plates do not come with a USB port there are probably not many of you out there that need an audio solution, however - are there any of you out there that has managed to put somethign it to allow music from an iPhone or other USB device?

I wish I got offered 35k for mine frown

Sorry for going OT but as suggested, try going on gtr.co.uk - wealth of info there. There are ways to get streaming working on a Jap spec with Spotify so perhaps something can be done for you.

59 reg Black Edition 28k miles Litchfields Stage 1 matey. To be fair I have only approached dealers though. I've been offered region of 30-31k from dealers. I think that's because I have finance outstanding. Might try settling finance and tidy up the stone chips + get a pro valet and will see how much she sells for smile
