For a price. Best bet is buy something with fsh, or if out of warranty one which has been looked after by litchfield as he has own independent warranty.

Running costs are steep if you use on track. Brakes and tyres are pricey. Everything else is actually quite cheap compared to anything else with even half the performance. 15-20 mpg average for me mid 20's on a run, less than 5 on track. Run flat tyres are dead after 6-8,000 miles road use due to shoulder wear. I run toyo's roughly 1500 a set. Brakes pads pagids work well but expensive and Oem brakes disks are a bit suspect for heavy road use due to cracking but fundamentally seem to last for road use. Alcons are my disk of choice at the moment.. I spend roughly 3.5k per year on maintenance consumables, but do use it for sprints, trackdays and top speed events. That's tyres, brakes and litchfield 6 monthly servicing. That's a pretty accurate assessment based on 3.5 years use. Hope this helps. Road bias use and 8,000 a year will bring that down a bit. Litchfield website for service costs and key consumables.

These cars are amazing value for what they are capable of. Lots of talk about the driving experience being detached, but in the recent Chris Harris video he looked like he was wrestling a wild animal! I'd love to experience one to make my own mind up. They seem pretty bullet-proof too. smile

i dont dispute the performance or capabilities...

But given servicing appears quite reasonable at Litchfields, im stunned by the £3k+ annual running costs! Thats a lot more than my 360 was..

I have had the recent fortune to be a passenger around wales in a 700bhp one... and to get to drive a mates around the TG track..

Its a very easy driving experience, but what the car can do does leave you amazed.

I've had my GTR for 18 months, it had 6000 miles on it when bought and has now done 18,000 miles. The servicing is carried out at Litchfields and seems cheaper than my Evo IX. The GTR if used on the road seems reasonable cost wise to run. The only extras I have bought are a set of Michelin tyres which were £1100. I still have mine serviced every 6 months although Litchfields are quite happy to move the older cars to the new longer service plan.
Value for money they are an excellent car, can easily be tuned for little added expense and will give most "Supercars" a real shock performance wise, mine is running 625bhp and 620ftlb and is still used every day for my commute to work.

As Barry says they are suburb value for money, with cheap annual servicing. It's the tyres and brakes which can catch you out though. For the general commute the consumables last pretty well. If you do a few trackdays then budget a set of tyres a year brake pads and certainly front disks. They are a heavy car and chew up these components. Pound for pound though best value for money super car you can buy.

Mine's done around 13.5k miles now and the original brake pads still only look around just over half worn which is amazing considering my other cars only lasted less than 10k miles on pads.

Then I realised the size of the things! The front pads are each around 8 inches long and 4 inches wide which is about 4 times the surface area of a 'normal' pad! The discs are the size of a 'normal' car's wheels!

Hi all, thought i may jump in here, i am in the market for a new car, and after what seems like forever, after hundreds of hours of research, im going for a GTR. running costs, servicing, in fact all round cheaper than most other cars with similar performance.
and yes, i have had initial contact with Ian at Litchfield, stg 2, Akropovic and some 400mm rotors are going to be done once car is purchased, along with the Litchfield warranty.

Hi mate, what model year GTR are you going for? Ive recently had a stage 1 and gearbox software update done pn mine at litchfields and it has made a HUGE difference, car is now fantastic! Was thinking of stage 2 but needed some gearbox gremlins sorting. More than happy with the car now though.

Akra exhausts are very nice but a bit pricey!

I, like Barry, have owned mine for 18 months. Got to say that in that time I've really gelled with the car and can honestly say that she's a keeper : ) people that say they are Drive themselves obviously haven't driven one properly. Yes, they are a piece of p to drive quickly, but to really press on is a very physical experience and a lot of fun. Obviously only when is safe and clear to do so. I hoon mine quite a lot in the early hours and its so much fun. In fact I did 200 miles across country last night in the pouring rain and had a massive smile on my face when I pulled up at home at 2am.

I've been lucky enough to have a couple of other fast fun cars and one which stands out as a traditional drivers car, if that term actually means anything, was a modded Noble. So no abs, traction control and near as makes no difference 1000kg. Yes it was fun, but I can honestly say I have just as much, if not more, in the GTR. However I totally agree that it's not for everyone, but what car is, as its such a subjective matter.

Anyway, back to cost lol. In 18mth I've covered 10k and apart from the solenoid pack needing a clean out its been 100% reliable. I needed a set of tyres and a set of front discs as they were getting low when I bought it and a runway day saw them off nicely lol.

So far it's cost me less to run than my old noble and about te same as the car it replaced which was a 996 Turbo. Great value for performance in my book.

Congrats on the purchase.

That's quite some shopping list! As a fellow GTR ownner i know how much that'll set you back....but it'll be worth it!

They're a great bunch down at Litchfields. Just try not to get carried away with any more mods!!

Crikey, I think I am a rare breed - someone that owns a GTR and thinks that it is fast and as powerful enough as it comes as standard - dare I say almost too much?

In saying that, the car will be headed down to Litchfields way come March for its 36months service, warranty check and its first MOT... Add in the optimisation services, Litchfield warranty, front disc/pads and to sort my only complaint on the car - a severe lack of noise - which in Litchfield talk means a Y-pipe and ECU remap (I'm not fussed at how loud it is really just as long as it doesn't have the drone or boomyness in the cabin - is boomyness actually a word? - so could be a full exhaust system - think people sell their old kit through Litchfield too?)...I'm really not looking forward to that bill. This is my first real forray into 'super car' ownership (had this debate with others who defiantly say its not a super car - although they can't deny its a super car slayer) so first time with the big expenses/running costs - the GTRs stable mate is an E39 M5 which is supermini in comparison to running costs! However, the grin factor and driving experience is completely worth it. This car will be a keeper until I can afford an exotic like an 430 Scud, Mac 12C, 458 or AMV12 type car...then again I said that about the M5 when thinking of buying the GTR and it is still with me!
