Having had my head turned by the idea of owning a Stagea I just can't shake the notion and have to scratch the itch. GTS underpinnings, Estate practicality (will swallow bikes with seats down is my current no.1 priority). Have hit a hitch though, the major insurance comparison sites don't list the Stagea in their drop down menus when I select not knowing the Reg.
Any owners of a 97-98 RS-Four 2.5 Turbo mind letting me use their Reg for an insurance quote?
I've seen one I'm interested in but don't want to bother the dealer if insurance cost is going to be prohibitive.

Thanks for the Ebay heads up, already tried 5 UK based google images, all seem to be off the licence register now... either the Stagea isn't going to show or they are all ex-plates.

OK thanks again for your help, seems as a low number import it's specialist insurers only as the comparison site don't list it. I best invest in some vaseline!

No worries. If I could afford the fuel I'd have one in a flash.

Have you looked at other quick Jap estates like the Legacy GTB?

@EcosseBMW yup guess thats the only option, unless I keep a runaround and go classic <5,000 miles.

Definitely worth a try, I was paying almost £500 with Tesco, their renewal quote was £650! I went to my local A Plan (in the high street and got a quote for - i think - £350 which I took. Just renewed this year with them again for £250. (Sorry not a Jap car - Saab Aero 9 5)

And don't forget the Legnum VR-4! I insure mine for just over £500 a year fully comp through Sky. (32 year old, 8 years NCB)

I ended up with Churchill(£440 with 3 years NCB fully comp £250 excess) after getting a series of increasingly ridiculous quotes from the various specialists in JDM imports. Check the paperwork when they send it to you though; mine was riddled with errors(they had it down as a manual, the wrong reg number and incorrect mileage.)

I'd give you my reg to get a quote with, but I don't remember it and I'm at sea at the moment. As you say it's not an option online, I just got a quote for the nearest comparable Skyline on Confused, saw that Churchill weren't quoting silly numbers so I phoned them up to see if a deal could be struck(and that their computer could cope with something as exotic as a RS4V); fortunately both of these were found to be the case.

Its often difficult to insure jdm models as mainstream insurers simply dont hold sufficient info on them a specialist is the only choice for a reasonable premium

My RS Four S is insured with A-plan, and Sky offered similar quotes. Same as you though, no chance getting comparison sites to recognise it!

Too early to say, need the bank balance to match the man maths first might take a few months before i can pull the trigger, just making sure it all adds up before i start selling the children.
