Hi all. My Son is thinking of changing the front discs to a grooved type, with better quality pads, as the braking from motorway speeds isn't as good as he would like.

Has anyone done this and was it worth the money? Also, what make of disc/pad did you use?

Thanks in advance!

New Discs and pads can be had off ebay for an alright price. I got new Front and rear, (grooved) discs and pads for under £200. (for a Corolla T Sport)
Braided hoses for another £50 odd and it should be a lot better.

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, I saw the EBay listings, they look like good value.

Glad you thought it was worth it. I wondered whether to replace the hoses too.

Look at the ferrodo ds2500. Much better than the oem pads. Improvement in stopping power/reduction in fade and didn't feel the need to upgrade the disks.

A change of fluid should help things as well.
