PHer 'Eric the Brave' has a business which ships parts from the USA at a discount. They have a drop-off address in New Jersey. Check out the Corvette forum for details.

Nothing mate, although I will end up ordering aftermarket parts for some sort of car in the not-too-distant future. Just curious as to how it works.

Try to get the sender in Japan to mark parcels as a 'Gift' that way you wont have to pay any import duty/tax,-Greenline will usually do it anyway
Gaz,another useful chap I've come across,is Tony at Japanauto,aka the JDM man on e-bay.Will find 2nd hand parts for you too,he's been very helpful finding bits for the R33 recently.
