That's the one. Need something with a bit of space, and I never like buying the ordinary.

Theres a few of them around here but thats not much help to you

Dont really see the point in them, theyre basically a skyline wagon but they dont look anywhere near as nice, probably could calle them a Laurel wagon cause theyre probably just as close to that as a skyline

Good man.

Well, you can be sure that the Nova next to you at the lights will have *no* idea what it is.

Kind of the same reason I'm leaning towards buying an MX-5 turbo in a few months. Would make Nova boy and his big brother Saxo chav look silly, to be pasted by a 'hairdressers' car. Immature I know

MX5 tubby Hehehe love that attitude
Some info on the Stagea for you to peruse,a REAL Q car!
Basic Specs
Engine Type dohc I6 twin-turbo
Displacement, cc 2568 Power, hp@rpm 276@6800
Torque lb-ft@rpm 267@4400 Curb Weight, lb 3784
0-62 mph, sec 6.0 1/4 mile, sec 14.3
0-1km, sec 25.1? 600 ft slalom, mph -
Top Speed, mph 150

Introduced to compete with the Subaru Legacy Touring wagon, the Nissan Stagea was launched in 1996 and featured a 2.5-litre inline-six engine. It was good for a claimed output of 276 horsepower, however the real ratings would have been closer to 293. Sending power to all four wheels, that model was good for a 0-60 mph time of 6.4 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 14.5. Enter Autech and the Stagea 260RS. Using the Skyline GTR engine and driveline, the stated output remained at 276 but in reality that figure was now closer to 310. Besides a small increase in displacement from 2.5 to 2.6 litres, the Stagea Autech also employs a beefier rear anti-roll bar and a strut brace linking the front suspension towers as well as a mechanical limited slip differential for the rear axle and Brembo disc brakes with ABS all around to improve stopping power. The straight line performance, braking and handling is improved dramatically over the base model.

RAN OUT OF SPACE REST OF BUMPF FOLLOWS

Info gleaned from:fantasycars.com & carsurvey.org (T)

If this this is still not enough though, a Nismo tuned version is available whose 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are somewhere in the neighbourhood of 5.1 and 13.6 seconds, respectively.

1998 Nissan Stagea Autech RS260 from Singapore

An extremely rare diamond
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing.
General comments?
This car is an absolute diamond, it handles extremely well, it gives plenty of feedback through the steering wheel and it sticks to the road as if the tyres were made of glue.

Performance is excellent, outraces any car - anyday. It even works like a charm in winter conditions too.

A rare car! Hard to get a hold of and impossible to get used. Perhaps a little overpriced.

Interior design however, is a little boring. The seats are OK, but the dashboard could do better with more adjustments to the .....???Dials?layout?

well impressive from a 3000kg beasty eh? The Autech version seems to have RB26DETT unit, the capacity does'nt match earlier GTST-RB25DET-2498cc & I think it had two blowers too,so unsure whether it was a hybrid or what.(T)

Not 3000KG surely. About 1700KG maybe.

Yes, it's a corking car 'init? My friends got a GTS-R (now that is super rare with only 5 in the country, 3 crashed in Group A racing and the other...who knows?), so Skyline bits + tuning is a nice bonus. Should be ammusing with 400+BHP which is the level I'd aim at.

Still think it'll feel like a milkfloat compared with the Noble, but for it's size / price it should be killer. Just got to find one now...that isn't daft money.

Cheers

Phil

Nope. It's this :-

Used to race against all those Sierra's in the British Touring Car championship when turbo's were legal. 575BHP running at max boost, although my friends runs about 12-14 PSI. Good for 300-350BHP. Not bad for a 2Ltr straight 6 with a single turbo.

At 14PSI(ish, I'm sure he twists it up a bit) when it gets moving it stays with my Noble....bugger.

He has run 20+PSI before now. He said it pushed his eye's into the back of his head. I've been in it running 16PSI and at 9000RPM it sounds fantastic and goes...well, you can imagine...or maybe not.

Hmmm Awestruck! That looks(to me)to be a pre-R32 shape,-late 80's early 90's?,I'm guessing here.
Thats certainly some boost to be running(esp if it was the standard ceramic turbo).
Interesting that you you should have a Noble,I've only had one real-life encounter with one in the R33.
Local(west-country)very straight, but not flat, piece of road-everyone uses for speed runs-alledgedly.I was tootling along, rising past 120ish,& out of nowhere behind me,this blue M12 '3'was past me & out of sight in nothing flat, the sound it made & the way it just seemed to flow over the road left me gibbering for hours.
Never been the same since.
Regards

Yes, Late 80's

Turbo's a T4. You're thinking big. You're thinking lag. You're not wrong. But that's half the fun!

The Noble's really strange when it comes to speed. You'd think that being that low you'd get a big impression of speed. Totally the opposite. You gently cruse along a country road and catch up on some other cars. Cue the start of mumbling "F'ing Sunday drivers going at walking pace".

Look at speedo. They're doing 60-70MPH. Hhhhmmm.

Pulling 1.1G's on corners is a grin. If I'm down your way sometime I'll give you a shout.

Cheers

Phil

Edited these pictures in :-

They look a bit like this...

..and like this when the compression ratio's gone wrong....

Edited again to say that's the car owner (Simon) in his own engine bay.

Considered the M'bishi Gallant VR4?
Similar power to the stagea, have seen two in action on track-wet & dry, kept up with Evo V1 easily, very impressive & quite rare.

There was a monster Stagea for sale on www.gtr.co.uk on the news page. Not sure if it's still available. Had about 500bhp IIRC.

Yeah, seen that. It's the Standard 300BHP and he wants something like £18K for it. I think the words 'having' and 'a laugh' spring to mind. I'm going to import one me thinks.

Also, yes Gallant's are quick but A) I've got a source of Skyline brainpower and B) it's not very 'different'.
