Having put it off for far too long I have to replace my original potenza's VERY soon (only just legal)
See that My Tyres are doing Falken FK 451 for £72 each, anyone used them.
Also, thinking of upping the width from 205 to 215 (more choice), anyone done this, can it be done and if so do I drop the profile from 45 to 40?
Would the fact that my tyres are way passed their best have anything to do with the severe tram-lining I'm getting at the mo?
Finally, any other deals out there cheaper and/or better than mine that anyone knows of?
Many, many thanks in advance for all replies

If your car is severely lowered that can induce tramlining-also cause exccessive wear on inside shoulders of tyres, because the cambers get out of whack.Prolly best to get a full alinement done.
Increasing width can give you some extra traction, but if you go too wide will upset handling & wear unevenly.(on my R33 17"x7.5 wheels I went from 225 to250 without any noticeable probs).
Profile size change will(slightly) decrease wheel circumference-making speedo fractionally out, decreasing tyre suspension effect & top speed iirc.ppl do it but I would get some car specific advise from the tyre pros first.
Like GoodYear F1s for all weather sportyness, sidewalls are bit soft tho IMO.

You'll need to check your tyre widths as you may be already at your max width, take my rover coupe for example, it has 195 50 15's on it where the original fitment was 185 55 15 so if you bought mine with those tyres on it you'd be wrong to assume you could go a size bigger.
As for make of tyre I'd tend to avoid tyres like Falken or Kuhmo or the like mainly because I've never heard a good thing said about them in comparison to the likes of Bridgestone, Toyo and Goodyear. For what it's worth I've always fitted either Bridgestones or Toyos to my weekend fun cars!
Cheers

Thanks for the replies folks
Had a quote for 4 x Toyo Proxis for £340, all in, which doesn't sound too bad
The guy at quick fit tried to sell me Michilin Pilot Sport for about £600! I told him about the Toyo's and he said it was 'cos they were a budget tyre. "Why do they fit them on TVRs then?" I asked.
Think I'll go for them all the same unless anyone else has any other advice
If I had £600 things might be different though

I've had pilot sports on a previous car and changed them pretty quick - I didn't get on with them they seemed to break away earlier than the Bridgestones and Toyos.
A Kwik Fit fitter saying Toyo's are a budget tyre is a bit rich given some of the crap they try and force on you!
Cheers
