Used to go on it a bit quite a while ago, but went to go on today to ask somat & can't seem to find it.

I tried-

www.scoobynet.co.uk (which im sure it used to be)

&

www.scoobynet.com (in case it had changed)

Neither of which worked so- down today?, website address change? or dead & buried?

Cheers,

Lizard

You will find that it is now

bbs.scoobynet.co.uk

It is still very active and now has over 42000 members.

The format has changed quite a bit.

Very much alive and kicking The first address you quoted will still get you to Scoobynet - just hit the forum button to take you into the BBS bit.

It has changed a lot - the increase in size has its pros and cons, but I can assure you, as a mod on Scoobynet, it keeps us very busy!

Actually I was gunna ask & why not here I guess, what is the situation with the scoobynet classifieds? seems a bit odd having 2 forums where you have to pay for an ad & one thats free but is a bit of a scrum? used to all be free, although having used it was a bit fast moving, put an ad on in the morning & by end of the day it was about 10 pages back!

I guess they (webmasters) want to save on too much rubbish appearing.

I like having the 2 sections.

As I am casually for a scoob at the moment I like not having to look through pages and pages of for sale items (plus it gives the mods slightly less to look through).

I wasn't too sure of the new format at first, but now I really like it (especially the preview function).

BTW my scoobynet name is Nicci.

It really came about because so much stuff was being posted in the For Sale fourm that items disappeared off the first page very quickly. So you had people all trying to compete to keep their items at the top of the page.

The decision was taken to split the sale forums into subscription and non-subscription. We made the subscription one purely for cars and this has worked very well. It's also helped raise a few quid for the coffers which is very welcome. Just as I'm sure Ted finds on Petrolheads - there are considerable costs to keeping sites of this size running.
