Anybody know anything about these cars?

How much they cost?

If they were ever sold in the UK?

AKA the corolla GT.AE86is the engine type-One of the Jap drifters favorites.Pretty rare now here as they tend to rust out esp under rear end. Also now the drifting fraternity have made them 'flavor of the month' ppl are asking silly prices for rust buckets.A couple og likely lads were asking £1000 for an old, sound but tatty one locally recently.Best buy would be one owned for years by an old gaffer who just took it out of the garage to go to the library in.
There was a buying guide/info a couple of months ago in Japanese Performance Cars mag-(can scan it if you want).

Initial-D fantasies to live out?

Iain

PS If you were really keen I'n sure you could get a full drift configured one imported. Probably landed for around 5k

A mate recently sold his FD and bought an FC which has been seriously tweaked - a jap import that's setup for drifting. It's an impressive motor. Very tempted to get something like that for track and keep the FD for road use. Can't justify 2 expensive rotaries though!

Iain

PS you can pick up an FC for < 4k and it'll be very fast. You can probaly pick up a turbo 2 cabrio fo 4-4.5k...

My 'Liner was drift set up when it arrived.I've left the Teins set low but changed the camber back to something less tyre shredding.

The drift car of choice, now rare as & going for silly money ie 6-7K for tidy ones & no I'm not joking. However take a closer look at the humble MX5 and they are remarkably similar underneath (less the back axle) similar weight & handling too.
