Poll for my new company car, CTR or Mini'S'
Discussion
CTR owner speaking, although trying to be impartial.
Mini has more of a go Kart feel that i didn't really like when making progess down a less than smooth country road - you didn't know whether you were going to bouce into the tress on the left or right. Admittedly the CTR isn't great on the bumpy stuff but it does feel a bit less like it wants to bite the verge.
CTR engine will go on hitting the limiter forever and gearbox is the best (good job as you have to stir it a bit to make decent progress). CTR steering is almost feel-less but the reserves of grip are pretty high, unless it rains. Mini supercharged lump is grunty , if a little coarse. Steering ain't bad either.
Mini has good space up front, but none in the back or boot. CTR is hooge, like driving a cathedral at times. CTR can seat 4 adults in comfort, Mini is a 2 seater with shopping space.
Looks wise it's over to you , but the mini is camper than a row of pink tents . CTR ain't pretty either though. Personnally I think the Mini interior looks cack. CTR interior is functional if a tad plasticky.
Both are a good laugh to pilot and should serve you well (but go for the CTR, you know you want to ;D).

Much as I disapprove of the whole MINI thing as a crass rip off of the original...I'd have one of those.
The MINI says I'm trying to be cool (especially with the various paint options) but I'm a bit to old. But at least you could get the works upgrade.
The CTR says I wear a baseball cap.
The MINI does at least look good in black, but the CTR is, and alway will be, a breadvan

CTR everytime
Had mine for 2 years now, following a sensible warm up it gets thrashed senseless everytime I drive it and it hasn't complained once. Infact in 2 years the only warrantly issue was a loose speaker bolt.
Does have duff steering but you get used to it very quickly and makes up for it with loads of grip.
Does have a hard ride but then I'd put up with that from any car if it meant no body roll
Don't agree about the breadvan looks, I think it looks sharp, pointy and purposeful, better than that girls car mini any day
One critisicm I do have though is that when the missus is in the car she doesn't let me 'drive' it. She says it's not a car to be a passenger in. So if you're ever in the Stoke area and you see me driving like a ponce thinking, "What a waste!" it's because 'er indoors is onboard, I get caught by people driving Metro's and then hold them up! It's embarassing.

Must addmit the CTR crew have a point.Bouncy mini isnt the most 'masculine' of autos-if that kind of stuff bothers you. What puts me off the CTR is some of the aweful, aweful body kits ppl put on them(not all btw).& Vtec is pretty cool.
