bloody rubish day at work.. very bored and pretty miserable.. it had rained most of the afternoon..

on my way home, for the first time in absolutely ages, a favourite bend was at last empty.. well sighted, and free of any traffic..

squeeze the throttle in second, revs begin to flare.. quarter of a turn of opposite lock gradually applied.. and I ride out a beautiful (if I do say so myslef) drift past the apex and onto the exit...

SWEEET!

all is well again.. have completely forgotten about work.. and arrived home with a stupid grin from ear to ear...

I love my car!!

just felt like sharing...
obviously said favourite bend was on my own private property..blah blah

Nice one...

I don't have the balls to do that in the MR2.

Only on the occaisional deserted roundabout do I give it a quick squidge of power-over.

I am very interested in learning the art of driving sideways though. I have The Drift Bible on DVD and - power overtseer aside - it all seems a bit bloody complicated!

to be honest, I'm not all that bothered about the dedicated "drift techniques"... although I certainly wouldn't mind having a go given the oppertunity.. like at one of cptsideways's drift days...

can't see myself using scandanavian flicks or giving the handbrake a yank on public road though

a little squeeze of power-oversteer on a deserted road is a lot more of a realistic prospect though obviously the deserted road would be on private land

what you said is the main reason I don't have a tubby-turbo.. as most of the owners seem to say it's a bit of a scary prospect to provoke it's overstter... that's why I love the '5.. it's just so easy to mess around with

Oooooh wet roundabouts (private ones that is)

Just make your next ski holiday in Scandanvia & drive there instead of flying. Mums in volvo estates do it all day long

Don't have the balls to do this on purpose either and until I got used to the turbo kick it used to happen quite accidentally from time to time... What was worse was Jap rubber and rain - sideways down straight roads!

Got a day on an airfield happening in a month or so (only 10 of us going) - track layout, slalom and drifting. woot!

Nope - a guy who runs an import company is organising it - he's a member of FDUK (3rd gen owners club). Less then 100 quid for a full days playing seems like a bargain.

Hoping it's damp though as I don't fancy the £450 for new tyres after though!

Had a sideways incident myself at the weekend. Came off a roundabout turning left at first exit - you can bear round immediately to the left on a slight downhill, into a 2 lane DC. All is clear so I take the exit and turn in one movement, as I get to the DC I feel traction go and the car goes into a lovely sideways drift, easily corrected with a bit of opposite lock. The car wouldn't normally go so easily as it has tons of grip in the dry, on checking the tyre pressures I find my front drivers side is at 21psi which explains it. Was at low speed (20mph tops) and there was nothing around me. It was good

a friend of mine took me out in his r32 skyline gts-t.the roads were damp, and he knew them well enough to drive blindfolded, i knew this, but could'nt help grip the door handle so tight i left my hand print on it,lol.
first time ive ever been taken for a ride as sideways as he got, i smiled for ages after.

i want a rwd car now.
