Wouldn't have anything to do with the new import rules, that state you can't bring anything in with even the tiniest mod?

Owned an MR2T and was a member of IMOC, guess technically I still am, but things have seemed to have declined of recent times.

Still, there are some very knowledgable folk on there, however they really do shoot themselves in the foot at times, one guy made loads of effort to get some places at TOTBIII, lots of turbo owners said, yup, ill be there with my 500+bhp monster....erm I think only one actually turned and and I don't think it ran.

It still is a very good place for technical knowledge about MR2's though, and bang for buck I don't think you can really beat the MkII MR2T.

I think the new laws will have a lot to do with the death of affordable turbo/power/fun cars.Grab 'em while you can.

O/T- saw this crap on IMOC:

About as useful as a mains driven vibrator in an igloo.

I looked at this car on Sunday and had a chat with the guy.
The spoiler is just there because it's pretty.

The air intake is his own design which he plans to sell.
His car is a n/a so I don't think he really needs it.

And about IMOC, I don't think its dying, well not as fast as the DC anyway. I don't use IMOC as much as I used to although its still good for a completely free site.

Does the biddy on the left have some sort of rocket booster attached to her chair?

That would be me, the newbie.

I have a mk2 rev2 n/a, in steel mist grey (uk car).
Its a t-bar and has air con, neither of which are of any use this summer.

The car has been with me for almost 2 years and has been faultless. although it is going up for sale in a few weeks, due to other temptations.

I will try and post a pic of the car later, but it is completely standard.

I just can't believe that I have only recently found the site. It's nice to have such variety in one place.

So nobody tempted to buy the scoop?
The guy doesn't have a working version of it yet anyway.

There are a couple of companies that do bodykits that essentially make mroe of a scoop out of the side vents, these would be quite effective at brining cool air into the engine bay

Lets just say the temptation rhymes with scooby doo.

I will just close my eyes and ears to whatever you say next

My other half wants me to get an MR2 turbo, but I was not so keen. I will wait until he gets one himself.

MR2 turbo is so much better and alot more reliable...heard that lots of times, but I would like to try a taxi.

Make sure you get a Rev 3 turbo or newer, basically '94 onwards, they are 240bhp, bigger brakes, revised suspension, revised wing and lights, basically much better than the Rev 1 & 2's

0-60 in 5.2secs, tops out due to gearing at about 160mph, if you live anywhere near Andover then go to Millway for servicing, they know a lot about them, very good garage, reasonable prices too.

If you really want to tune them I highly recommend getting a stage III or higher hybrid turbo from Owen Developments in Oxford ask for Dino, even if you just want to tune it a bit, they are easy to get 300ish bhp out of.

One of the best bang for buck cars you car get

I know the MR2 turbo is a great car (yes I know about different revisions).

This may sound silly but I don't want to go in one as I might like it.
One of my local mates has a rev 3 turbo and always asks if I want to drive it.

I don't want to be swayed from my scooby craving.
Once I have been there done that, then I can think about an MR2 turbo or maybe a supra, who knows.

Psst...Pssst...think ..Skyline.

Good on ya! Which type of scooby do you fancy?
There are so many WRX STI variants I get confused.

Gazboy, you heard from Greenslime yet? My gauges & replacement 'A'pillar pod arrived last week.

Nothing wrong with skylines, just a shame I like the R34 (too expensive), although I could get an R32, I think they are bland looking.

I am looking at getting a uk turbo. I would like a Impreza type R, but it's another 2.5k and I don't want to save any longer.

The insurance for the WRX was £300 more for a car the same age etc as the uk turbo, so I am not doing that one.

My '2 was given a good clean yesterday only for it to rain just before I finished. That's so annoying.
