I know it's a bit of an age old question but does anyone know of a reliable source where I can get hold of some bonnet lifters (and some new boot lifters while I'm at it) for my recently purchased CRX:

She's a euro import Si, not that that should make any difference for bonnet lifters/struts. I've hunted the internet quite extensively and am yet to strike it lucky.

Any advice would be most welcome.

If they are gas struts you are talking about it may be possible to measure or get a numer from teh strut and order it from somewhere like RS.

There used to be a company called Gas Strut Engineering

www.gasstrutengineering.co.uk/

from there web site about replacing existing struts. Dont know if you have to be in the trade though

"Replacement Gas Struts
Should you require replacement gas struts for your existing equipment, please provide the following information:-

The extended length between centres.
The type of end fittings required (see our product pages for details).
The stroke length.
The part number written on the outside of the existing strut"

Scarp yard?

Nice CRX by the way I had 2

I'll give them a try, thanks.

Very pleased with her so far. I've wanted one for a while and although she's only a 1.6 16 she's good enough for me until I can afford to expand my budget. Will make a good project for me too. Not that I'm planning any lax-power type improvements, but I am going to do a lot of the servicing myself which I've not really done before. It's going to be a learning process

Why do you need to replace them? If theyre just not holding the weight of it up you can get them regassed. Will be alot easier and cheaper.

As for where you could get it done, I cant help cause Im abit far away

Nice looking CRX too

Cheers

I don't currently have any bonnet lifters so getting them re-gassed could prove a little tricky at the moment

The rears I'm considering getting done though as I'm guessing it'll save me a fair bit. Never needed to have it done before now thoughy so have no idea regards to cost.
