Does anyone here run a pajero import jobbie? Are they any good e.g. towing fuel wise and how is the auto box?
Im very interested in getting one to bomb around in and tow small boats etc.
Any views welcome.

Parents have a SWB Shogun .. (the 2000 model) It tows very well, its the diesel 2.5.. its not exactly fast though and the ecomamy is not great. The petrols are even worse on economy!

I think you'll find that the petrol ones do only a couple of mpg less than the diesels. They also have more power and are more reliable. If your getting 28 out of a diesel you'll be getting 24 out of the petrol.

I'd go for a manual box especially if towing. Most of the imported Pajeros have better specs and more gadgets on them. The other thing in an imports favour is it's condition opposed to an official import.

I was thinking of getting the pajero as a lazy drive so was thinking of getting the auto transmission. I wont be towing anything really heavy, just my jetski and the occasional car on a trailer.
Thanks for the replies guys.

A friend had one a couple of years ago but i didnt really look at it. Remember following it once and then loosing sight of it as it sped off.
