Don't drive it daily now I'm working back in central London but I did last year up to Mid-december (then it went on rebuild holiday). Moved back to work in London in Feb so I didn't do too many winter miles this year.
It's no worse than any other powerful RWD car to be honest. If you boot it in the wrong conditions and at the wrong time you'll end up getting the back-end out on any car.
1st time I drove it in the wet i managed a nice 180 pirouette coming off a roundabout in Guildford. Mostly it was lack of rwd experience and the crappy japanese tyres.
Still got the tyres but have a year's worth of experience to tell me how much is enough. In the wet I seriously moderate the use of my right foot!

I was using mine as a daily driver all throughout the winter (rain and snow ) no problems.... well apart from getting back up my drive in the snow - that was fun. I'm starting a new job just down the road at Canary Wharf next week so it's going to become more of a toy.
As others have said, just treat it with respect it wet, slippery conditions as you would any other powerful rear wheel drive.
The only issues with using it as a daily driver are:
a) They're not the best in traffic. Even the standard clutch is quite tiresome in stop/start traffic. Uprated clutches are probably a nightmare.
b) Fuel economy is not great i.e. you won't better 20mpg (no worse than TVRs etc) but it'll give George Best a good run for his money town driving.
c) They don't really like short journeys. You need to get the rotary engine warmed up properly and I've been told that lots of short journeys aren't really good for engine life.

Dan you're giving this far too much thought, just buy one. Once you have it this sort of thing seems irrelevant
My car has a reputation for being a handful in the wet, but as I've found, if you drive sensibly you have nothing to worry about. Just be smooth with your throttle/ steering/ braking inputs and keep an eye out for standing water.

I am committed now!
Can't wait.
Gonna have to though for insurance reasons.
I need a quicker car - I managed to keep up with an Elise in the MR2 until I hit the dreaded 112mph limiter. Then got my arse handed to me by an MRT (I had to get out of his way very quickly indeed)!
One (odd) question... Does your rev counter/speedo etc have a chrome ring around it?
