MX5 Clutch judder
Discussion
Apparently Mazda are aware that these cars have this problem but only in the UK apparently, but anyhow thay are bringing out a modification for it and so are replacing clutches, even out of warranty AFAI have been told, so if you have this problem, get to your local dealer and mention it to them. There is a long waiting list so apparently I have to wait till ablout Christmas to get mine done.
as an aside, has anyone had any problems with their gears especially in first and second, i.e feeling all notchy and not going in very well?

They're all a bit notchy when cold but should be fine once warmed up. Is your car a 5 or 6 speed? Some people like Redline oil in the 'box, it supposedly makes it even smoother but I have no problems with the standard Syntrac that Mazda recommend. Could also be your clutch pedal needs minor adjustment. There should also be a small quantity of oil present in the shift turret assembly which dries out on older cars. I'd doubt this will be it on a new model though.

Mx5 clutch judder - what a nightmare.Recently bought a 1.6 mk2.5 2001 model which suffered a little clutch judder. Had the clutch replaced a coupleasure of months ago and still a nightmare if not worse. Been back to have clutch replaced again (thinking it might b faulty) but still bad.
Am now thinking of having flywheel replaced but it's pricy - any other ideas out there aa car is sitting in garage awaiting my decision
